Research

My research integrates observational studies of plant populations and communities, experiments ranging from small-scale greenhouse studies to landscape-scale manipulations of fire, and rigorous quantitative methods to address a variety of questions in population biology, community ecology, ecological restoration, and conservation biology. In my current role as the UW-Madison Arboretum’s Research Ecologist, I am primarily focused on research questions related to the conservation and restoration of Midwestern prairies, savannas, woodlands, and wetlands.
