About

I am a Research Ecologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum. My research investigates various topics related to plant ecology, conservation, and ecological restoration. My most recent research focused on plant and insect responses to the combined effects of fire and fragmentation in tallgrass prairie. See Jared’s CV.

In my spare time, I enjoy birding, botanizing, and generally exploring the natural world. I have a special affinity for (some might say obsession with) lilies, ducks, and mapping.
